Duration and Frequency

Aerobic physical exercise should be spaced out throughout the course of the week. Research studies constantly indicate that physical exercise on at least three days a week is beneficial to one's health. Spreading out your physical exercise across at least three days a week may help you prevent injury and exhaustion.

Both moderate- and vigorous-intensity aerobic exercise should be done in 10-minute increments. Cardiovascular fitness and certain risk factors for heart disease and type 2 diabetes have been shown to improve with episodes of this length.
